I enjoyed last week's photos and realized that a specific target does a lot to make a more focused shoot. When I just walk around to try and "take some cool pictures" I end up with some random photos that don't really capture my attention after I take them. I hope you readers all stay around to see what is to come.
This week my roll of the dice has chosen a much more difficult target: Black and White Motion Capture. Showing motion creatively is going to be a hard job for me we'll see how it goes.

My new project
Winter in the small town of Alanya, Turkey is a little slow. During summer tourists from much colder climates flock here and more shops open up and the city is more exciting, but winter is boring. Add to that a total of 5 English tv channels that often show the same 4 shows every day and you get a bored person on your hands. So I have decided to start a new project.
After receiving some nice comments from friends and family about pictures from my recent trip to Prague I thought maybe this would be a skill I could continue to develop, taking pictures that capture what I see and like about the world around me. In the process I am sure I will make better use of my camera and learn to take better photos technically as well. So a photo project seems to be the perfect way to stave off winter boredom and continue to grow.
Thanks to a story in a photo magazine I developed the idea of a weekly photo session using dice to help me decide my subject for the day. I will roll 2 dice to start:
Dice 1:
Evens = Color
Odds = B&W
Dice 2:
1) Color Challenge -roll a dice for color to focus on
2) Capture motion
3) Focus on a Letter - can be the letter or a representation of the letter (i.e. quiet for Q)
4) Shapes
5) Portraits - a feared topic
6) Roll another die for "Ideas list"
Ideas List:
1) Park Bench: Tell the story of a bench.
2) 100 steps: start in one place walk 100 steps take a picture
3) Word of the day -
4) collection of somethings - something chosen by Erin
5) After Dark
6) Self Portrait
Now that I have set the parameters it is time for the first roll of the dice and a photo walk.
This weeks photo challenge :
1) Black & White
2) Shapes - Circles (chosen by my lovely fiancee Erin)
You will see the results soon.
